Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Guelph, Ontario is seeking a hands-on teammate to load and unload parts, pack and sort materials, and assist in moving items to production areas. You will operate a crane and tugger as required, follow Lean and workplace organization standards, and support meeting production goals while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • Must have drive and motivation to learn continuously on the job.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting requiring cooperation.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers and supervisors to exchange information about tasks and coordinate work.
  • Some completion of secondary school or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload parts and materials for production within required cycle/Takt times.
  • Operate a crane to load and unload parts.
  • Operate tugger or lift tow.
  • Pack and sort raw materials or finished products.
  • Assist in the preparation and transportation of material to various production areas.
  • Assist in meeting production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
  • Follow priorities set by supervisors and sequence tasks within a set framework.
  • Perform tasks that are generally repetitive.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Perform safe work procedures with proper PPE and health and safety procedures.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location and
    • ISO 14001: Environmental Management system standards
    • ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety.

Perform safe work procedures with proper PPE and follow health and safety procedures .

Support and maintain department lean initiatives and workplace organization requirements

Credentials

Some completion of secondary school or equivalent

Desired Characteristics

Possess drive and motivation to learn continuously on the job.

Ability to work mainly independently and in a team setting requiring cooperation.

Ability to interact with co-workers and supervisors to exchange information about tasks and to coordinate work.

Partake in training related to the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), use of cleaning products and equipment.
