Job summary

CRH Canada (Oldcastle) is seeking a production operator to run plant machinery and maintain inventory for a wide range of hardscape concrete products in Alberta. You will follow safety policies and procedures to ensure a high-quality output and comply with production schedules.

The role requires at least 2 years in manufacturing, ability to read safety and operating manuals, and physical capability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety procedures and manuals.
• Ability to lift objects up to 60 pounds with assistance if needed.
• Must wear PPE including ear plugs, hard hat, steel-toe shoes and safety glasses.
• Reliable transportation to site.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant machinery to produce concrete products per instructions.
• Inspect product quality against standards and maintain production records.
• Assist in maintaining accurate production inventories.
• Monitor machinery to detect malfunctions and report issues.
• Assist with setup, cleanup and job-change tasks; keep area organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Job Summary

This role will operate plant machinery as directed while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product. This position will manufacture and maintain inventory for an extensive selection of hardscape concrete products.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate equipment efficiently to produce concrete products from raw materials to yard stage
• Inspect the quality of products according to standards
• Assist in maintaining accurate production
• Monitor the operations of machinery and associated equipment to detect and report malfunctions
• Perform machine clean-up, set-up, and other functions associated with job changes
• Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Lead Operators, or others in a responsible position
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures, operating and maintenance instruction and manuals
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds each, with assistance if needed, at heights from floor level to 4 feet high
• Must wear personal protective equipment - ear plugs, hard hat, steel toe shoes and protective glasses
• Reliable transportation
