Job description

Maintenance Mechanical Technician (Maintenance Mechanic)

Location: Ottawa, IL
Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Pay Range: $20 - $28 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance on motors and mechanical equipment; maintain detailed work orders.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns efficiently.
• Assist with installations and modifications of equipment as needed.
• Use a variety of hand, power, and specialized tools proficiently.
• Report directly to the Maintenance Manager with project updates, questions, and suggestions.
• Receive and achieve daily/weekly goals from Maintenance Manager and Warehouse/Production Supervisor.
• Ensure safety of self and team members at all times.
• Apply problem-solving skills and critical thinking to complete complex tasks productively.
• Monitor the work environment, report issues, and contribute to process improvements.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a mechanic in an industrial setting, or a High School/Trade School mechanical degree.
• Basic math and writing skills.
• Proficiency in maintaining industrial equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate stairs.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to coordinate workflow, safety procedures, and analyze information.
• Dependable, deadline-oriented, goal-driven, hardworking with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work well with teammates and management.
