Job summary

Halliwell Consulting Corp is seeking an Industrial Automation specialist to program, integrate and support robots, PLCs, HMIs and low‑voltage panels in a plastic injection molding facility.

The ideal candidate has robotics and automation credentials plus 5 years of hands-on experience, with strong troubleshooting, team collaboration and communication skills in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in a similar automation role.
  • Diplomas/licences listed under Education and Qualifications.
  • Experience with PLC/HMI programming in a plastics environment.
  • Proactive, hands-on troubleshooting and strong communication.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical docs.

Responsibilities

  • Program and integrate industrial robots (Fanuc, Motoman) for new and existing equipment.
  • Develop and troubleshoot PLC and HMI applications (Beckhoff, Omron, Allen-Bradley).
  • Configure and support vision systems (Keyence, Cognex, Fanuc).
  • Create/ revise electrical schematics using AutoCAD and EPlan.
  • Assemble and wire low-voltage control panels per standards.
  • Integrate robotic and automation equipment for reliable operation.
  • Set up industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, PROFINET).
  • Install and maintain automated machinery (assembly, packaging, conveyors).
  • Provide guidance to maintenance, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Assist injection molding teams during launches and upgrades.

General Job Description

This role is responsible for the programming, integration, and support of industrial automation systems, including robotics, PLCs, HMIs and low-voltage control systems within a plastic injection molding environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic manufacturing setting, and take a proactive, hands‑on approach to troubleshooting and resolving both production and project‑related challenges efficiently and professionally.

Compensation and Benefits

Wage is negotiable –Paid overtime after 40 hours per week

We offer a very extensive benefit program:

  • Company paid time off: Up to 10 days + 5 float days to start; 15 days + 5 float days (1st full year).

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Program and integrate industrial robots, including Fanuc and Motoman for both new and existing equipment.
  • Develop and troubleshoot PLC and HMI applications using platforms such as Beckhoff, Omron, and Allen-Bradley.
  • Configure and support vision systems, including Keyence, Cognex, and Fanuc.
  • Create and revise electrical schematics using AutoCAD & EPlan.
  • Assemble and wire low‑voltage control panels in accordance with electrical design standards.
  • Integrate robotic & automation equipment, focusing on seamless functionality and system reliability.
  • Set up and maintain industrial communication networks, including Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, and PROFINET.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain automated machinery, including robotic systems, assembly lines, packaging equipment, conveyors, and vision inspection systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist injection molding specialists during new product launches and equipment upgrades.
  • Interpret and apply information from electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Education and Qualifications

Robotics and Automation diploma, Technologist diploma in Electrical engineering, Industrial Electrician license, Electronics Technician Certificate or equivalent training and experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 5 years of experience in a similar role required. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
