Job summary

Amico is seeking a Site/Project Coordinator to support PDB phase design, BIM coordination, and field operations for large infrastructure projects in Ontario. The role involves working with engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure constructability and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities include reviewing design deliverables, maintaining documentation, processing RFIs, and coordinating site deliveries while upholding safety procedures and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Systems, or Construction Management.
• 1–3 years of experience coordinating construction works, ideally with an institutional or building construction focus.
• Proficiency in reading drawings covering HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, and life safety systems.
• Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Procore.

Collaborative Design & PDB Phase Support

• Review design deliverables alongside engineers during the PDB development phase to ensure constructability.
• Coordinate 3D BIM models to cross‑reference MEP layouts with structural, and architectural systems.
• Track action items stemming from multi‑stakeholder design workshops involving the client and technical consultants.
• Maintain logs for design changes, monitoring how layout revisions impact material quantities and target pricing.

Field Coordination & Subcontractor Liaison

• Participate in site safety inspections and toolbox talks.
• Ensure compliance with project safety requirements, and site‑specific safety procedures.
• Report hazards, deficiencies, and incidents to supervision.
• Assist in field validation of MEP installations.
• Process Requests for Information (RFIs) and distribute clarification responses promptly to site foreman and trades.
• Review shop drawings and equipment data sheets submitted by systems subcontractors for specification compliance.
• Coordinate site delivery schedules for major equipment.

Project Administration & Document Control

• Maintain document repositories containing approved engineering drawings, meeting minutes, and quality control files.
• Track quality assurance documentation required for field inspections, ensuring all materials meet the client’s standard specifications.
• Prepare weekly progress reports outlining site installation milestones, material shortages, and delay risks.
• Schedule and progress tracking.
• Commissioning and project closeout tracking.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Systems, or Construction Management.
• 1 to 3 years of experience coordinating construction works, ideally with an institutional or building construction focus.
• Proficiency in reading drawings covering complex HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, and life safety systems.
• Experience with industry software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and construction management tools like Procore.
