Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all surveying activities related to construction projects, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and as‑built surveys.
  • Lead and manage survey teams, including surveyors and technicians, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment, ensuring proper functioning and accuracy for field operations.
  • Coordinate the collection and analysis of survey data, ensuring accuracy and reliability in measurements and calculations.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of survey data and reports.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide survey support and accurate data for project planning and execution.
  • Ensure surveying activities comply with industry standards, legal requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate survey records, maps, and reports documenting survey findings and land‑related information.
  • Manage surveying budgets, resources, and procurement of survey materials as needed for projects.
  • Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment under different weather and environmental conditions including noise, dust, cold and hot weather, etc.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field, professional licensure or certification in advantageous.
  • 8 years of experience in land surveying, with proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the construction industry.
  • Ontario Land Surveyor experience considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in surveying instruments, software and geographic information systems (GIS).
  • Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, land laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced construction environment.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate survey teams.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective decision‑making critical thinking skills.
