Elte is Toronto's source for considered design for all things home. For over 100 years, our family has worked with designers and craftspeople from idea to object, curating timeless pieces and the most distinct creations. Our sister brand, Mkt, is an independent design house creating pieces for a modern, edited home. We have three large showrooms within Toronto's Design District. In the Elte Showroom, you'll find Rugs and Carpeting, Furniture, Lighting, Mattresses, Linens, and Home Décor.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a highly driven and results-oriented Sales Consultant to join our team at Elte. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of success in a commission-based, relationship-focused, high-touch sales environment. They have consistently been recognized as a top performer on their team and are passionate about providing exceptional customer experiences. This individual will play a key role in building strong relationships with designers, architects, and builders in the luxury space, acting as a trusted advisor and positioning Elte’s offerings as tailored solutions to meet their design needs.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development:

• Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets through proactive outreach, networking, and creative lead generation.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with designers, architects, and builders.

• Develop and execute personalized sales strategies aligned with Elte’s growth objectives.

Client Relationship Management:

• Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact.

• Assess client needs, address inquiries, and provide tailored recommendations for their projects.

• Proactively engage with clients both in the showroom and on-site at their offices or project locations.

Showroom and Offsite Sales:

• Spend up to 50% of time outside the showroom with clients, attending events, and networking.

• Actively present Elte’s product assortment to small groups both inside and outside the showroom.

• Maintain flexibility to work weekends as needed to meet business demands.

Strategic Planning & Reporting:

• Organize and prioritize target accounts and develop personal sales plans.

• Utilize Salesforce to manage leads, track performance, and analyze sales activities.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom space that embodies the Elte brand.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5+ years of proven success in a commission-based sales role focused on relationship-building.

• Consistently recognized as a top performer within their team.

• Strong background in customer-facing, high-touch sales environments.

• Experience or genuine interest in interior design or related industries such as furniture, luxury goods, or home décor.

Skills:

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present effectively to small groups.

• Exceptional ability to build and nurture relationships, influence decisions, and provide strategic solutions.

• Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to assess client needs and deliver customized recommendations.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) for tracking performance and managing client relationships.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively balance showroom and offsite responsibilities.

Logistics:

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; access to a reliable vehicle is a plus.

• Flexibility to work weekends and adjust schedules based on business demands.
