Job summary

Avolta AG is hiring a Shift Supervisor for the World Duty-Free at Vancouver International Airport. You will lead a luxury-brand sales team and deliver exceptional customer experiences while managing inventory, pricing, and presentation.

The role requires flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and a full-time commitment in-store. You will oversee shop operations and coach staff to meet targets and uphold brand standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory/leader role within the luxury retail/service industry.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel and adaptable to other systems as required.
• Strong working knowledge of retail operations, including cash and inventory control, markdown compliance, merchandise handling, and shrink management.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle due to operating hours.
• Successfully clear a criminal background check RAIC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Promote quality customer service among staff by acting as a positive role model.
• Maintain employee attitude and morale by recognizing outstanding performance and service, motivating, and developing staff.
• Analyze sales data to set sales goals and implement sales programs to meet targets.
• Ensure pricing, signing, and ticketing of merchandise are accurate.
• Responsible for opening and closing the store and securing all assets.
• Ensure that the store is in compliance with all Airport, Provincial, and Federal employment laws/regulations.
• Oversee inventory counting at the end of the shift and conduct staff bag checks.
• Assume Terminal Manager's responsibility in his/her absence.
• Ensure all health and safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
• Reconciliation of cash, card, and bank deposits.
• Investigate any cash discrepancies together with the cashier to identify and solve problems.
• Organize and coordinate shift plans.
