Job summary

Holt Renfrew in Canada is seeking a Tailor/Seamstress to fit, pin, mark and alter garments to client specifications, delivering high-quality results. You will measure clients, ensure correct fit, price alterations, and communicate dates to clients, while partnering with Sales to ensure exceptional service.

The ideal candidate has tailoring training, at least 2 years of experience with luxury fabrics, and fluency in English and/or French; Holt Renfrew offers an inclusive, fashion-forward

Qualifications

• Tailoring/seamstress training or equivalent.
• 2 years experience in alterations or tailoring.
• Experience with luxury fabrics.
• English and/or French communication.

Responsibilities

• Measure clients to determine scope of work.
• Pin and mark garments by fabric type for correct fit.
• Alter garments to highest technical standard.
• Deliver completed garments by promised date.
• Inform client of alteration charges per price list.
• Communicate promise date for completed alteration.
• Partner with Sales to create client satisfaction.
• Provide expert guidance on cut and fit.
• Follow Holt Renfrew price list.
• Inform manager of supply or equipment needs.
• Help maintain department cleanliness.
• Comply with Health & Safety and privacy policies.

Skills

2 years experience in alterations

Experience with luxury fabrics

English and/or French communication

Education

Tailoring / seamstress technical training or its equivalent
