Job summary

School District 5 Southeast Kootenay is seeking an individual to assist administration by supervising students during the lunch hour and supporting assigned supervisors. The role is temporary until June 25, 2027, with ten months of work per year while school is in session.

The successful applicant must have a Grade 12 or equivalent, six months of relevant experience with children, and WCB Level 1 First Aid training.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum six months' training or volunteer experience working with children in a group setting.
• WCB Level 1 First Aid training or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision and safety of students in and around the school during the scheduled noon-hour break.
• Maintain a high degree of visibility.
• Maintain appropriate discipline.
• Provide first alert and appropriate action for accidents and other potentially serious and/or dangerous situations, such as fights.
• Report immediately all safety and discipline issues that require the attention of the supervisor or designate.
• Administer first aid according to the level of qualification required.
• Perform other job-related duties.
