Star Building Materials is seeking a Saw Operator - Lumber to join the yard team in Rocky View County, AB. You will cut lumber to order specifications using various saws and work safely within Qualico’s Safety Program.

Responsibilities include reading work orders, inspecting lumber, coordinating with forklift operators, and ensuring accurate cuts. A focus on safety and efficient material handling is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Completion of middle school; reading, writing and basic math required.
• At least 6 months experience operating table saw, shop saw and radial arm saw.
• Criminal record check must be satisfactory.
• Physically able to kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Review work instructions to determine lumber required.
• Inspect and store lumber; replenish materials.
• Coordinate lumber placements with forklift operator.
• Saw lumber to specified dimensions and angles.
• Examine work orders to set up equipment.
• Promote safe work environment and report safety violations.
