Job summary

Clearpoint Health Network Inc is seeking an LPN for New Westminster Surgical Centre to support patients from pre-admission through post-operative recovery. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, patient-centred care across the surgical journey.

Responsibilities include pre-admission assessments, coordinating testing, admitting patients for surgery, administering medications, and providing discharge education.

Qualifications

  • Current registration as an LPN in good standing with the applicable regulatory body.
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS is an asset.
  • Minimum one year of recent acute care nursing experience.
  • Previous experience in Pre-Admission, Day Surgery, PACU, or Post-Operative nursing is preferred.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative surgical environment while delivering exceptional patient-centred care.

  • Coordinate required diagnostic testing and communicate significant findings to physicians.
  • Admit and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring all preoperative requirements are completed.
  • Monitor, assess, and provide nursing care to patients in the post-operative recovery phase.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
  • Provide discharge education to patients and families, including medications, wound care, and follow-up instructions.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in care planning.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Promote a safe clinical environment and participate in quality improvement and professional development initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

New Westminster Surgical Centre is seeking an LPN to provide high-quality nursing care to patients throughout their surgical journey, from pre-admission assessment to post-operative recovery and discharge. Key Responsibilities

Pay range: $33 to $40/hr

Qualifications
