Job summary

Providence Health Care operates a float pool of Licensed Practical Nurses providing flexible coverage across Medicine and Surgery units, with occasional Renal or Cardiac assignments. The LPN delivers patient-centered care, documents care plans, and collaborates with RNs and other clinicians to ensure safe, effective treatments.

The role emphasizes safety, patient advocacy, and participation in quality activities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized Practical Nurse program or equivalent.
• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and respectful nursing care across units in a float pool.
• Conduct assessments, monitor signs, and communicate with the RN/RPN as needed.
• Administer medications per protocol and document care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop care plans and participate in care conferences.
• Support orientation of staff and students and assist with discharge planning.
