Job summary

ParaMed is actively seeking a Clinical Supervisor who will oversee Health Care Aides and Nurses delivering in-home care across the Calgary area. The role ensures safe, ethical patient care with leadership in clinical practice and documentation.

The incumbent will guide staff through education, coaching, and mentoring while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of home health care standards and regulations. A strong background in community nursing is essential.

Qualifications

  • Current LPN license with CLPNA and entitlement to practice without restrictions.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a practicing LPN.
  • Comprehensive patient health assessment skills required.
  • Understanding of community nursing practice principles.
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and teaching skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Must provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Health Care Aides and Nurses in community settings.
  • Respond to and advise/resolve concerns from staff, patients, families, and team members.
  • Provide ongoing leadership through huddles, meetings, and one-on-ones.
  • Initiate patient safety incident investigations and document actions.
  • Collaborate with nursing team to support clinical documentation and funder reporting guidelines.
  • Engage patients to identify health care needs and goals, and provide health teaching.
  • Coach and mentor staff in problem solving and clinical practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge to ensure safe, efficient home health care.

Job DescriptionIn this valuable role, the Clinical Supervisor is accountable for the supervision of Health Care Aides and Nurses who are caring and making a difference for clients within the community.
