Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to lead and coordinate nursing care within a community setting in Alberta. You will collaborate with residents, families, and the care team to deliver person-directed care that honors each resident’s needs and preferences.

You will oversee medication assistance, documentation, and audits while supporting health care aides and ensuring compliance with CLPNA standards. Strong communication, leadership, and clinical knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an LPN program and registered with CLPNA.
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Criminal record check (vulnerable sector).
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and evaluate resident services with the care team.
• Support health care aides with resident care needs and documentation.
• Oversee medication assistance and accurate charting.
• Lead emergency response within the community.
• Ensure infection prevention and control practices are followed.
• Complete audits of charts, med drawers, and safety logs.
• Document residents’ priorities, outcomes and care plans.
• Maintain supply control and ensure timely medication availability.
