Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Redwater, Alberta for part-time and casual roles. You will lead nursing and care services, collaborate with residents, families and care partners, and coordinate a person-directed care approach that respects individual needs and preferences.

You will oversee clinical practices, ensure documentation accuracy, support staff, and participate in audits to maintain quality and regulatory compliance while fostering a welcoming community

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent required; fluent in English.
• Graduate of a recognized LPN program.
• Registered and in good standing with the CLHA.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
• Current clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check.

Responsibilities

• Support healthcare aides and care aides, overseeing medication assistance and tasks.
• Assist with non-clinical tasks to ensure a welcoming resident experience.
• Delegate and allocate tasks to care staff.
• Support relief scheduling for LPNs and aides.
• Lead response to emergencies within the community.
• Document incidents, safety concerns, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain documentation of residents’ priorities, plans, and outcomes.
• Audit charts, wound care binders, and medication drawers for quality and compliance.
• Ensure safe medication handling and supply level management.
• Involve residents in discussions about medications when appropriate.
• Identify and report health, safety or maintenance issues.
• Implement Infection Prevention and Control practices.
