Job summary

Onni is seeking a Low Voltage Technical Lead to oversee design, installation, and troubleshooting of integrated security, access control, and networking systems across residential and commercial job sites in Vancouver and beyond.

You will lead field teams, coordinate with subcontractors and clients, and ensure installations meet scope, code, and quality standards while mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in low voltage systems installation and integration.
• Strong knowledge of access control systems (DSC Neo, Alarm.com, or similar).
• Experience with CCTV/IP cameras: installation, configuration, troubleshooting.
• Proficient with networking gear, especially Ubiquiti/UniFi (VLANs, switches, APs).
• Ability to read electrical/low voltage schematics and drawings.
• Excellent client-facing communication and subcontractor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of access control, intrusion, CCTV, and networking systems across multiple concurrent job sites.
• Serve as the escalation point for technical issues that field technicians can't resolve independently.
• Review and approve system designs, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications before installation.
• Configure and troubleshoot access control platforms (e.g., DSC Neo, Alarm.com), IP camera systems, and network infrastructure (Ubiquiti/UniFi).
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure installations meet scope, code, and quality standards.
• Mentor and train junior technicians on best practices for low voltage systems.
• Conduct site walkthroughs and quality control inspections.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, network topologies, and as-built drawings.
• Stay current on emerging technologies in security, AV, and smart home integration.

What you have

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in low voltage systems installation and integration
• Strong working knowledge of access control systems (DSC Neo, Alarm.com, or similar)
• Experience with CCTV/IP camera systems (installation, configuration, troubleshooting)
• Proficiency with networking equipment, particularly Ubiquiti/UniFi (VLANs, switches, access points)
• Understanding of intrusion detection/alarm systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical/low voltage schematics and architectural drawings
• Strong communication skills for client‑ facing interactions and subcontractor coordination
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites
• Experience with AV system integration (audio distribution, smart home automation) is an asset
• Industry certifications (e.g., BICSI, manufacturer‑specific certifications for Axis, Alarm.com, Ubiquiti) are assets
• Experience managing residential and commercial/strata properties is an asset
• Project management experience or PMP‑adjacent skills are an asset

Salary Range: $75k - $90k
