Job summary

AutoCanada is seeking an On‑Site Vehicle Porter at the Nissan location in Ottawa. You’ll transport customers and dealership staff, maintain the lot, and assist Sales and Service teams with daily operations. Expect a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail for vehicle presentation and cleanliness.

The role involves organizing lots, inspecting vehicles, and supporting reconditioning processes. A valid license, clean driving record, and ability to drive both auto and manual transmissions

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Interest in automotive industry and knowledge about vehicles.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Experience with cleaning products and cleaning tools is an asset.
  • Dependable with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize.

Responsibilities

  • Transporting customers and dealership personnel as needed.
  • Building and grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Support for Service and Sales Departments.
  • Daily organization and parking of vehicles for sale and service.
  • Remove vehicle protective coverings and ID tags before returning to customers.
  • Inspect vehicles for stains, debris and damages; report issues.
  • Assist with service write-ups and tagging of customer cars and trucks.
  • Assist with shop clean-up and deliveries when needed.
  • Clean vehicle exteriors for seasonal needs (e.g., snow).
  • Identify lot merchandising needs to the manager.
  • Place signage on vehicles for advertising.
  • Monitor and organize vehicles daily based on reconditioning progress.

Your area of focus.

Responsible for transporting customers and dealership personnel, maintaining the building and grounds, and supporting the Sales and Service Departments. Duties include organizing and parking vehicles, detailing customer and showroom vehicles, removing snow and protective coverings, checking vehicles for damage, picking up parts, assisting with deliveries and shop clean-up, and keeping the lot clean and organized. Also responsible for placing vehicle signage, monitoring vehicles through the reconditioning process, and delivering dealer trades to nearby stores or driving customers home when needed.

What drives your day-to-day?

What are the must-haves…
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Interest in automotive industry, and knowledgeable about vehicles
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles
  • Experience working with cleaning products and cleaning tools including power washers is an asset
  • Must be dependable, reliable,possessa strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively

Compensation

The expected range of compensation for this position is $18 – $18.50 Hourly — No bonus. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
