Job summary

Guelph Kia, part of AutoCanada, is seeking a Lot Attendant in Guelph, ON. You will transport customers and staff, keep the lot organized, and ensure vehicles are clean and ready for sale or service.

This fast-paced role requires reliability, attention to detail, and good customer service. Must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to drive both automatic and manual transmissions.

Responsibilities

  • Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
  • Maintain lot organization and parking for sale and service vehicles.
  • Assist with service write-ups and tagging of customer cars.
  • Help with shop cleanup and deliveries when needed.
  • Clean vehicle exteriors and interiors according to seasonal needs.
  • Identify lot merchandising needs and report to management.
  • Place signage on vehicles for advertising.
  • Monitor progress of vehicles in reconditioning and ensure tidy lot.

Your area of focus.

In this position, the Service Porter will be responsible for transporting customers as needed, cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicles owned by customers and those that will be placed into inventory. Success in this role will require someone who has the physical capabilities to effectively maneuver around, under, and inside the vehicle to ensure a thorough and satisfactory detail has been completed.

What drives your day-to-day?
  • Transporting customers and dealership personnel, as needed
  • Building and grounds maintenance as needed
  • Service and Sales Department duties
  • Daily Organization and parking of vehicles for saleand service department
  • Remove vehicle protective coverings and ID tags prior to returning completed vehicle to customer
  • Inspect vehicles for stains,debrisand damages before returning the vehicle to the customer, and report any damageimmediately
  • Assistwith service write-ups and tagging of customer cars and trucks
  • Assistwith shop clean-up and deliveries when needed
  • Cleaning off vehicle exteriors based on seasonal needs (i.e.snow removal)
  • Identifyany lot merchandising needs or issues to theappropriate manager
  • Placing signage in and on vehiclesfor advertising purposes
  • Monitoring and organizing vehicles daily based on their progress in the reconditioning process
  • Lot tidiness (garbage clearing,etc)
What Are The Must-haves…
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Interest in automotive industry, and knowledgeable about vehicles
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles
  • Experience working with cleaning products and cleaning tools including power washers is an asset
  • Must be dependable, reliable,possessa strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively

Compensation

The expected range of compensation for this position is $17.60 – $18.20 Hourly — No bonus. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
