Job summary

Guelph Kia, part of AutoCanada, is seeking a Service Porter to help transport customers and move vehicles, while maintaining interior and exterior cleanliness for customers' vehicles and inventory.

You will assist with shop duties, organize vehicles, remove coverings, and support the Sales and Service teams. A high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission are required. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Interest in automotive industry is helpful.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
• Experience with cleaning products and cleaning tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Transporting customers and dealership personnel, as needed.
• Building and grounds maintenance as needed.
• Service and Sales Department duties.
• Daily organization and parking of vehicles for sale and service department.
• Remove vehicle protective coverings and ID tags prior to returning completed vehicle to customer.
• Inspect vehicles for stains, debris and damages and report any damage immediately.
• Assist with service write-ups and tagging of customer cars and trucks.
• Assist with shop clean-up and deliveries when needed.
• Cleaning vehicle exteriors based on seasonal needs (e.g., snow removal).
• Identify any lot merchandising needs or issues to the appropriate manager.
• Placing signage in and on vehicles for advertising purposes.
• Monitoring and organizing vehicles daily based on progress in the reconditioning process.

Your area of focus.

In this position, theService Porterwill be responsible for transporting customers as needed, cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicles owned by customers and those that will be placed into inventory. Success in this role will require someone who has the physical capabilities to effectively maneuver around, under, and inside the vehicle to ensure a thorough and satisfactory detail has been completed.

What are the must-haves…

• Interest in automotive industry, and knowledgeable about vehicles
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles
• Experience working with cleaning products and cleaning tools including power washers is an asset
• Must be dependable, reliable,possessa strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively

Compensation

The expected range of compensation for this position is $17.60 - $18.20 Hourly - No bonus. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, education, skills and experience.
