Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Loss Prevention Security Guard in Red Deer, Alberta. You will patrol retail and other environments, reading the surroundings to anticipate risks and act accordingly. Strong observation and social skills help deter theft and support store safety.

You will work full-time with flexible shifts, contribute to incident response, and ensure safety while detaining suspects when legally appropriate. GardaWorld offers growth and training through GardaWorld Academy.

Qualifications

• Be authorized to work in Canada.
• Hold a valid security license.
• First aid certification - asset.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout shift.
• Prior Loss Prevention experience/training is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Partner with law enforcement during serious incidents.
• Provide covert security support to identify, deter and apprehend individuals involved in external criminal activities.
• Assist in de-escalating disorderly behaviour and conflicts within the store.
• Theft apprehension must only be made with all five elements present.
• LPOs must adhere to the Criminal Code of Canada when apprehending and detaining.
• Prioritize safety of themselves, staff and customers during arrests.
• Monitor suspicious customers and act as a deterrent.

As a Loss Prevention Security Guard, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, security facility centers, etc.

Responsibilities for Loss Prevention Security Guard

• Partner with law enforcement during serious incidents
• Provide covert security support to identify,deter and apprehend individuals involved in external criminal activities

• LPO's are required to adhere to the criminal code of canada when apprehending and detaining
• LPO's must always prioritize the saftey of themselves, store employees, and customers while carrying out their duties when making an arrest
• LPO's are to watch suspicious customers and be a deterant
