Job summary

Sport Chek in Canada is seeking a Store Loss Prevention Lead to reduce loss and act as a visible LP presence on the sales floor, ensuring the LP program is followed and customers are supported.

Reporting to the Store General Manager, you will train associates, monitor high-risk hours, secure high-value items, and liaise with the Regional LP Manager to share information. A background in retail LP is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of previous retail experience is considered an asset.
• 12+ months of previous experience as a Loss Prevention Officer or In-store Security is considered an asset.
• Previous experience training and mentoring employees
• Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy containers (up to 50lbs)
• Computer literacy is an asset.
• Passion for your activities and a drive to inspire others to be active.

Responsibilities

• Being a Loss Prevention presence at the front of store and in-department during high-risk hours
• Logging incidents and liaising with Regional Loss Prevention Manager
• Coaching associates to ensure they are aware of acknowledgment responsibilities and current LP hotspots
• Ensure product is secure, following LP tagging standards and locking high value items
• Lead efforts to reduce internal and external loss on the sales floor
• Promote customer and Loss Prevention awareness throughout the store
• Maintain store LP program execution and awareness among staff

Educational Level

• High School Diploma
• Provincially valid Security Guard or Investigator License considered an asset.
• SportChek will pay for internally promoted employees to complete required training and licenses.
• Valid CPR & First Aid training is required for the role and can be completed during employment.

Our typical hiring range is between $18 and $25. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, store size and market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
