Job summary

New Way Trucking Ltd. is seeking a professional driver to join a two-person team for long-haul trucking across international routes. You will manage front-to-back duties, including loading, securing cargo, and maintaining vehicle safety while traveling extensively.

The role requires a valid Class 1/A license, air brakes endorsement, and willingness to travel across borders. Training is provided for those starting out, with relocation possible and a permanent, full-time work arrangement.

Qualifications

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • No experience; training provided.
  • Air Brakes Endorsement.
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A).

Responsibilities

  • Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations.
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
  • Drive lighter, special purpose trucks.
  • Load and unload goods.
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
  • Perform brake adjustments.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods.
