Number of vacancies: 6

Term of employment: Full-time, Permanent Position with 40-50 hours per week

Job location: Travel across Canada and USA with base at 2524 216 Street Langley, BC V2Z 1P4

Shifts: Weekdays, Weekends, Evenings

Salary: $37 per hour. Overtime at the rate of 1.5 times per hour exceeding 60 hours per week

Job requirements:
  • Credentials: Class 1 or A driver's license with air brake endorsement.
  • Education: High School
  • Experience: No experience required. On the job training will be provided
Additional skills:
  • Basic English is required to understand road signs and fill logbook
  • Be able to work in individuals or in a team
  • Clean driving abstract

Type of Travel: Long Haul, Regional, Provincial/Territorial as well as national and International

Duties:
  • Operate and drive trucks/trailer to transport goods and material to destinations all over Canada and USA.
  • Oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading, and safety and security of cargo.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment.
  • Maintain logbook, record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information in logbook.
  • Obtain special permits to cross Canada/USA borders.
  • Coordinate with dispatcher.
