Job summary

Dolphin Delivery ltd. in Abbotsford, BC is seeking a Long Haul Truck Driver for permanent, full-time work.

The position requires mountain driving experience, a valid Class 1/1F/A licence with Air Brakes endorsement, and the ability to operate in a two-person team with up to 60 hours per week. You will perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections, manage cargo paperwork, and coordinate with dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections and oversee all vehicle aspects.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and secure cargo for safety and security.
• Communicate with central dispatch and relay information promptly.
• Operate straight or articulated trucks and manage vehicle maintenance basics.
• Drive in two-person team or convoy as required.
• Handle and transport dangerous goods when applicable.

Documentation knowledge

• The candidate must be knowledgeable about accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip) and maintenance and repair reports.

Type of trucking and equipment

• Trucking and equipment types include refrigerated, tractor-trailer, and tractor-trailer A train.
• The candidate must be familiar with Citizens Band (CB) radio and Trip Recorder (onboard computer).
• The candidate will be responsible for operating GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigational equipment.

Transportation/travel experience

• The candidate must have long-haul travel experience.
