Job summary

Gardner Walker in Montreal is seeking an efficient driver to join our team for long-haul routes across the Northeastern US, New York City/Long Island, and Ontario. You will drive flatbed trucks with retractable tarps, perform equipment safety inspections, and manage deliveries and pickups across regions.

We offer a competitive CAD salary (80,000–95,000 per year) with a $4,000 retention bonus, plus a quarterly bonus, comprehensive benefits, and an on-site gym.

Qualifications

• Hold a Class 1 license without the “W” restriction.
• DEP or 3 years of long-haul driving experience.
• No criminal record.
• Ability to make sound decisions quickly.

Responsibilities

• Deliveries and/or pickups in regions served (Northeastern US, NYC/Long Island, Ontario).
• Drive flatbed trucks with retractable tarps.
• Handle necessary collections from customers.
• Perform equipment safety inspections.
• Report mechanical issues, cargo damage, or quality problems.
• Read/adhere to route instructions and logbook regulations; complete required documentation.

Daily Tasks

• Perform deliveries and/or pickups in all regions served by Walker (Northeastern US, New York City/Long Island, and Ontario);
• Drive flatbed trucks with retractable tarps;
• Handle necessary collections from customers;
• Perform equipment safety inspections;
• Report any mechanical issues, cargo damage, or quality problems;
• Read and follow route instructions and logbook regulations, and complete required documentation;
• Multi-delivery routes with return trips.

Job Requirements

• Hold a Class 1 driver’s license without the “W” restriction; Vocational Diploma (DEP) or 3 years of long-haul driving experience;
• No criminal record;
• Ability to make sound decisions quickly;
