Job description

Job Title: Logistics Manager

Department: Supply Chain

Reports to: Sr. Director of Planning & Distribution

Location: Onsite, Langley, B.C.

Pay range will be dependent upon experience.

The Logistics Manager oversees the supply chain operations of an organization, ensuring that products or services are delivered efficiently, on time, and in a cost-effective manner.


Essential Functions Include:
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Coordinate and monitor the entire order cycle, from procurement to delivery.
  • Manage transportation, warehouse, inventory, and distribution operations.
  • Analyze and optimize logistical procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and transportation providers.
  • Track delivery times, transportation costs, and other key performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and customs requirements.
  • Supervise logistics staff and provide mentorship and training.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems that arise in the supply chain.
  • Manage logistics budgets and control expenses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or related area.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations and supply chain management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office applications.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems and ERP software.
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (CSCP, CLTD, etc.), preferred.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives, preferred.
  • Familiarity with lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies, preferred.

Food Safety Requirements:
  • Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Dry’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.

Physical Requirement - Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity.
  • The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment.
  • Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees.
  • The ability to lift to 15 lbs. is required.
