Job summary

TRICAN in Medicine Hat, Alberta, is seeking a Logistics Driver to operate heavy trucks safely in all weather and terrain. You will perform pre/post trip inspections, rig in/out equipment for travel, and maintain thorough documentation while upholding TRICAN’s safety standards.

The role requires a Class 1 licence, strong communication, and physical fitness to handle heavy lifting. You will work 15 days on, 6 days off, with on-call duties during shifts, and you must reside near the base.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 Driver’s licence required.
• High school diploma an asset.
• Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract may be requested.
• Physically fit – heavy lifting required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills.
• Skilled in problem-solving techniques.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is the core priority in all activities.
• Operate large duty trucks on outdoor terrain and all weather conditions.
• Attend pre-job safety meetings on location.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and complete forms.
• Rig-in/out equipment for travel.
• Operate all equipment safely and responsibly.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues.
• Consult with supervisor on deficiencies.
• Assist in equipment maintenance.
• Complete required paperwork promptly.

LOGISTICS DRIVER – MEDICINE HAT

The Logistics Driver is responsible for the safe operation of equipment during their shift.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that Trican’s core value, “Safe equipment and operations” is the priority in all activities
• Operate various large duty trucks over outdoor terrain and through all weather conditions
• Attend pre-job safety meeting on location
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and accurately fill out all required forms
• Perform rig-in/out of all equipment for travel
• Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Establish and maintain effective communication with colleagues
• Consult with supervisor and crew regarding any operational deficiencies
• Assist in all required equipment maintenance
• Ensure all required paperwork is completed in a timely manner

Experience & Skills:

• Valid Class 1 Driver’s licence is required
• High school diploma is an asset
• Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract will be requested
