Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in Mississauga, Canada, is seeking a Manager of Transportation Operations to lead and optimize transportation across multiple Contract Logistics clients. You will drive carrier management, KPI reporting, and operational excellence while coordinating with warehouse, procurement, and carrier partners.

The role requires 5+ years of leadership in transportation/logistics with strong communication and TMS/WMS proficiency.

Qualifications

• Designation such as CITT, CCLP, P.Log, or related asset is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary operational contact for multiple Contract Logistics clients.
• Manage high volumes of email correspondence and stakeholder communications.
• Utilize TMS and related systems to manage transportation execution, reporting, routing, visibility, and performance.
• Maintain data integrity and ensure timely completion of operational transactions.
• Engage in development and/or refinement of carrier and customer dashboards.
• Monitor carrier performance and lead corrective actions when required.
• Lead transportation issue resolution, service recovery activities, root cause investigations, and CAPA initiatives.
• Prepare and present monthly KPI reporting, performance reviews, and financial performance with clients and carriers.
• Support onboarding, user acceptance testing, continuous improvement, automation, and system enhancement initiatives.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with warehouse operations, customer service, procurement, leadership, and carrier partners.

• The Manager of Transportation Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing daily transportation activities across multiple Contract Logistics clients. This role ensures operational excellence through effective transportation planning, carrier management, client communication, data integrity, and team leadership.
• The successful candidate will serve as a primary operational contact for multiple client accounts, maintaining strong relationships through proactive communication, issue resolution, and service performance management. This position requires a highly organized individual who is comfortable managing large volumes of email correspondence, navigating transportation and warehouse management systems, and coordinating with internal teams, clients, carriers, and vendors.
• In addition to operational responsibilities, this role is expected to actively support and model Kuehne + Nagel leadership culture. The incumbent will foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment through coaching, employee development, continuous improvement, and leadership by example.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
