Job summary

The Logistics Coordinator, Transload at Sutco Transportation supports efficient movement of products through the Waneta Transload facility. You will coordinate railcar supply, train building, sequencing, scheduling, inventory tracking, and customer communication in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Collaborating with operations, rail carriers, customers, vendors, and site personnel, you’ll ensure safety, accuracy, and compliance while maintaining records and delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in Business, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or Operations is an asset.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, dispatching, transload, warehousing, shipping and receiving, administration, customer service, or related operational environment.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills; ability to collaborate with customers, rail partners, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple competing demands while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with initiative and self-motivation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, data accuracy, documentation, and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using dispatch, logistics, ERP, inventory management, or other operational systems.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, shipment tracking, rail operations, transload activities, or industrial operations is an asset.
  • Adaptable, dependable, and accountable; able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily rail transload activities, including train building and sequencing at the Waneta facility.
  • Order, track, and manage railcar supply and inventory to align with production, shipping, and customer requirements.
  • Schedule and communicate loading, unloading, and transfer activities with customers, operators, and site personnel.
  • Monitor operational activities and communicate schedule changes, delays, and priorities to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory movements, railcar activity, and operational data.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound product movement to ensure efficient utilization of resources and equipment.
  • Monitor railcar status, dwell times, and yard/track capacity; communicate delays or priority changes to stakeholders.
  • Assist with customer communication regarding shipment status, scheduling, and service requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain operational documentation, reports, and tracking records.
  • Support inventory tracking and reconciliation activities to ensure accurate material accountability.
  • Work closely with site operations personnel to support workflow planning and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues to minimize service disruptions.
  • Support compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a safe, professional, and customer-focused work environment.

Job description

The Logistics Coordinator, Transload supports the efficient movement of products through the Waneta Transload facility by coordinating railcar supply, train building and sequencing, shipment scheduling, inventory tracking, and customer communication. Working closely with Operations, rail carriers, customers, vendors, and site personnel, this role helps ensure rail and transload activities are executed safely, efficiently, and accurately while maintaining operational records, supporting compliance requirements, and delivering a high level of customer service in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Compensation & Schedule

$22.00 per hour

Compensation will be paid in accordance with the applicable rate for this position. Additional premiums, allowances, and benefits may apply.

Schedule: During the training and onboarding period, the schedule will be Monday to Friday. Upon successful completion of training, the regular schedule will transition to Friday through Tuesday.
