The Sutherland Group of Companies' Sutco Transportation is seeking a Class 1 Truck Driver for Castlegar, BC to join our team. You will transport wood residual fibre products with safety and efficiency, following pre/post trip inspections and regulatory requirements.

This role offers home daily, a Monday-Friday rhythm with overtime after 60 hours, 24-hour dispatch support, and a focus on safe, respectful work with opportunities for training and advancement.

Competenze

• Class 1 Driver’s Licence required.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts.
• 2 years trucking experience preferred.
• Mountain driving and Super-B experience preferred.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
• Acceptable driver’s abstract per Sutco policy.

Mansioni

• Conduct pre and post trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road worthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Load and unload wood residual fibre products in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure safe transportation of freight by securing goods while loading and unloading.
• Tar vehicle using manual or auto tarps as available.
• Chain-up vehicle based on road conditions.
• Complete all electronic records regarding working hours, vehicle status and maintenance records using ISAAC.
• Ensure trucks are left clean and safe at the end of each shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct pre and post trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road worthiness and regulatory compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

As a member of the Sutco Transportation team, we expect you bring the following to the table:

• Class 1 Driver’s Licence
• Willingness to do rotational shift work
• 2 years of trucking experience preferred
• Mountain driving and Super-B experience preferred
• Acceptable commercial driver’s abstract, based on Sutco’s abstract review policy
• Ability to pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Testing
