Job summary

Sutco Transportation in Quesnel, BC, part of The Sutherland Group of Companies, is seeking a Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team and haul wood residuals. This position offers reliable, Mon–Fri work and the opportunity to be home every day.

Responsibilities include pre/post trip inspections, loading/unloading, securing freight, tarping, chaining on mountain roads, and recording hours in ISAAC. We provide paid training, 4% vacation pay, and safety bonuses.

Qualifications

• Class 1 Driver’s Licence required.
• Willingness to do rotational shift work.
• 2 years of trucking experience preferred.
• Mountain driving and Super-B experience preferred.
• Acceptable commercial driver’s abstract, per Sutco policy.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Testing.

• Load and unload wood residual fibre products safely.
• Secure freight during transport and unload.
• Tarp vehicle using manual or auto tarps.
• Chain-up vehicle based on road conditions.
• Record hours and vehicle status in ISAAC.
• Ensure trucks are left clean and safe after each shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct pre and post trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road worthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Load and unload wood residual fibre products in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure safe transportation of freight by securing goods while loading and unloading.
• Tarp vehicle using manual or auto tarps as available.
• Chain-up vehicle based on road conditions.
• Complete all electronic records regarding working hours, vehicle status and maintenance records using the industry’s best fleet management system, ISAAC.
• Ensure trucks are left clean and safe at the end of each shift.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Class 1 Driver’s Licence
• Willingness to do rotational shift work
• 2 years of trucking experience preferred
• Mountain driving and Super-B experience preferred
• Acceptable commercial driver’s abstract, based on Sutco’s abstract review policy
• Ability to pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Testing
