Job summary

National Logistics Services (NLS) is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in Mississauga to manage transportation planning, customer order management, and fleet dispatch. You will coordinate with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure efficient routing and on-time deliveries.

Ideal candidates have experience in logistics coordination or dispatcher roles, strong communication, and proficiency with TMS and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Previous experience working as a logistics coordinator, dispatcher or transportation customer service role is a definite asset.
• Work successfully with both the management and the warehouse teams
• Creativity & vision with strong understanding of how to balance priorities
• Excellent communication, organizational & administration skills
• The ability to solve problems in a fast moving environment
• Identify and solve problems through your own initiative and by communicating with others
• Positive attitude with good people skills.
• Proficient with TMS, MS Office, including MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel

Responsibilities

• Dispatch drivers in accordance with customer needs.
• Create cost effective trucking routes that meet customer demands.
• Ability to adjust to last minute changes in scheduling and communicate effectively with drivers and customers.
• Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate customer needs.
• Effectively communicate with customers concerning operational and logistical issues, changing processes and work updates.
• Accept load tenders, book delivery appointments and schedule pick up date and time.
• Update customer web portals with up-to-date load information.
• Call customers to advise shipment delays and/or information necessary to process orders, border crossings, and receipt of custom documents for clearance.
• Monitor and update shipment statuses on the company’s internal applications.
• Other duties as assigned.
