Job summary

Vortex Freight Systems is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator to oversee end-to-end shipment coordination across North America from Mississauga. You will mentor team members, handle high-priority shipments, optimize carrier selection, and ensure clear communication with clients, carriers, and international teams.

The role is on-site, with standard hours Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and requires experience in 3PL environments, cross-border freight, and bilingual capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in logistics, transportation, supply chain or related field.
• Experience sourcing carriers and dispatching.
• 2–4 years in transportation or logistics coordination, preferably in a 3PL environment.
• Proficiency with Truckmate TMS and Excel is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience managing end-to-end brokerage for cross-border freight US–Mexico.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is advantageous for cross-border coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end shipment coordination across North America.
• Monitor load tendering, dispatch, and delivery for timeliness.
• Verify accuracy of commercial documents (e.g., bonds and invoices).
• Communicate with clients, shippers, and terminals to resolve discrepancies.
• Escalate and manage OSD issues promptly.
• Mentor and support junior coordinators during peak workloads.
• Ensure departmental procedures and escalations are followed.

Job Overview

As a Supply Chain Coordinator, you will oversee and manage the end-to-end coordination of shipments throughout North America. This position will involve mentoring team members, handling high-priority shipments, optimizing carrier selection, and ensuring seamless communication with all stakeholders, including clients, carriers, and international teams.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mississauga, with standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the planning and execution of shipment coordination across North America.
• Monitor and ensure timely load tendering, dispatch, and delivery.
• Verify accuracy of commercial documents (e.g., bond and invoice reconciliation).
• Communicate with clients, shippers, and terminals to resolve shipment discrepancies.
• Escalate and manage OSD (Overage, Shortage, Damage) issues promptly.
• Maintain strong communication with the operations team on status updates or delays.
• Source cost-effective carrier solutions while maintaining service quality.
• Provide guidance and support to junior coordinators during peak workloads.
• Ensure departmental procedures and escalations are followed appropriately.
• Perform administrative tasks, data entry, and reporting as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
• Experience sourcing carriers and dispatching
• 2 - 4 years of experience in transportation or logistics coordination, preferably in a 3PL environment is an asset.
• Proficient in Transportation Management Systems (Truckmate) and Microsoft Excel is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven expertise in managing end-to-end brokerage operations forcross-border freight between the US and Mexico.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus for cross-border coordination.
• You must have flexibility to work on Canadian statutory holidays to support our U.S. business operations and provide service across North American markets.

Compensation for this role is offered as a salary range and will vary depending on experience.
