Job summary

GeoSpectrum Technologies is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The role oversees the full-cycle shipment process, coordinating with clients and internal teams to ensure timely, compliant deliveries.

The ideal candidate has a post-secondary Business credential with 3+ years in shipping/logistics, ERP experience (Sage), and strong proficiency in Microsoft tools. TDG/OHS/WHMIS/Forklift certifications (or the ability to obtain) are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business or related field, with logistics experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience planning, coordinating and managing team communications.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience using Sage or similar ERP systems.
  • Intermediate computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Occupational Health and Safety, WHMIS and forklift (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Proactively plan and coordinate the full-cycle logistic process for national to international shipments.
  • Support the Program Manager with the logistic details related to complex shipments.
  • Prepare and process online customs information and documentation for international shipments.
  • Act as primary representative for internal and external logistics inquiries.
  • Oversee quality management of shipments, documentation, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate, communicate and document dangerous goods shipments.
  • Schedule incoming shipments from third-party vendors.
  • Report workflow, safety, compliance, shipment discrepancies delays and/or concerns to management in real-time.
  • Maintain shipment tracking systems and documentation in real-time.
  • Coordinate and delegate material handling tasks to teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of workflow efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist leadership with reporting, data management, and ad-hoc projects.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Manage inventory movement between company warehouse and third-party storage locations.

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, planning, and coordinating the full-cycle shipment process. Working closely with internal and external clients, this role serves as the primary point of contact for logistics updates, inquiries, and concerns.

With a strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance, the Logistics Coordinator applies supply management principles and best practices to support efficient, seamless logistics operations and contribute to the success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Report known and foreseeable workflow, safety, compliance, shipment discrepancies delays and/or concerns to management in real-time.
  • Maintain shipment tracking systems and documentation in real-time.
  • Coordinate and delegate material handling tasks to teams.
  • Contribute to and seek input for continuous improvement of workflow efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist the leadership team with reporting, data management, and ad-hoc projects.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and other departments and leadership.
  • Manage inventory movement between company warehouse and third-party off site storage location.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary certificate/ diploma in a Business, related field, equivalent career experience in Shipping & Receiving or Logistics.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience planning, coordinating, delegating, managing team communication, and handling escalations.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience using Sage, or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Intermediate level computer and technology capabilities and experience using Microsoft products, internet, quoting tools, and research.
  • Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Occupational Health and Safety, WHMIS and Forklift certification (or ability to successfully obtain)

Security Requirements

All candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.
