Medcan Health Management is seeking Locum Physicians to support Year‑Round Care (YRC) (Urgent Care) and/or Dedicated Care (Rostered) practices. Shifts are based on need and availability, ranging from one shift per month to 24 hours per week, scheduled during Medcan's clinic operating hours (Monday‑Sunday, 8am‑6pm). Opportunities to support clinics in Etobicoke (3250 Bloor Street West) and/or York Mills (4120 Yonge Street).

Responsibilities

• Year‑Round Care: Provide screening and primary care services, conduct history and physical exams, offer clinical guidance and recommendations.
• Diagnose clinical conditions, prescribe and administer medications and treatments, and arrange follow‑up care with internal or external specialists.
• Educate, advise, and empower patients on primary and secondary preventive health care.
• Provide counseling and support on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.
• Participate in Medcan business initiatives including continuing medical education, innovation, research, product development, and support.
• Dedicated Care: Deliver in‑depth, compassionate primary care to a small patient roster.
• Build strong relationships with patients and understand all interconnected aspects of their health and wellness journey.
• Use same‑day testing results for clinical recommendations and health guidance.
• Create comprehensive treatment plans and delegate administrative duties to the dedicated team.
• Engage with the team through daily lunches and on‑site continuing medical education.

Qualifications

• Commit to working at Medcan for a minimum of one day per week (one virtual day may be considered).
• Ability to maintain a patient roster within one month of onboarding.
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and an active OHIP billing number.
• CCFP designation, CCFP (EM) designation or FRCPC designation.
• Experience in preventive care and wellness (asset).

Compensation

Pay range: $190–$230 per hour, dependent on number of days worked and patient volume. Rates vary based on services offered.
