Laurentian University in Greater Sudbury is seeking a skilled Locksmith to oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of our lock and electronic access control systems across campus facilities. The role includes managing the key/core system and the large-scale card access platform used by faculty, staff, and students.
You will administer and coordinate access rights, implement new configurations, and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic locks.
Salary: $ 63,897.60 - $ 73,257.60 per year

Reporting to the Manager of Trades, the Locksmith is responsible for the management, design, installation, and maintenance of the University’s comprehensive lock and electronic access control systems across all campus facilities. This includes oversight of a complex, hierarchical key and core system and a large-scale card access control system serving faculty, staff, and students. The incumbent ensures the security, integrity, and functionality of all mechanical and electronic access systems and related hardware, and administers the associated operating software and databases to maintain campus-wide access control standards.
The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
