Job summary

Cascadia Metals in Saskatoon is seeking a dedicated 5-ton truck driver to join our team. You will represent the company by delivering goods on schedule and maintaining vehicle readiness.

Key responsibilities include completing daily driver logs, preparing monthly inspection paperwork, and coordinating with the Operations Manager and Branch Manager. The role requires a valid Saskatchewan Class 3A license, clean driving abstract, and safe, independent work habits.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in verbal and written communication is essential.
• Strong attention to detail with basic computer skills.
• Previous warehouse and shipping/receiving experience is preferred.
• Valid forklift license and a Saskatchewan Class 3A driver's license with a minimum of two years' experience.
• Ability to provide a clean driver's abstract (minimum five years).
• Safety gear: Possession of steel-toe boots with a minimum 6" height (no steel-toe shoes).
• Thorough understanding of the National Safety Code for Motor Carriers.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Accurately complete standard driver's daily logbooks in compliance with Saskatchewan regulations.
• Complete necessary paperwork for monthly inspections.
• Perform daily trips without overnight requirements; flexible hours and potential overtime.
• Schedule services and repairs, obtain quotes and lead times as needed.
• Maintain truck consumable stock and cleaning supplies; notify the Lead-Hand when replenishment is required.
• Foster a team-oriented environment and report to the Operations Manager and Branch Manager.
• Understand and manage bills of lading and shipping manifests.
• Vehicle cleanliness: Regularly clean the truck using pressure washers and hand cleaners.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks; complete paperwork for incoming and outgoing materials.
• Maintain the truck bay, equipment, and overall property upkeep.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Lead Hand.
