Job summary

Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, is seeking a Loader Operator in Windsor, ON. You will manage yard operations, load/unload materials, and ensure safety standards with PPE while coordinating with drivers and customers.

Responsibilities include sorting metals, performing daily equipment inspections, and assisting mechanics as needed, in an outdoor environment with varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma/GED or 1+ years equipment operator experience considered.
• Ability to work independently and read/write basic math.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow oral/written instructions.
• Able to climb ladders/steps and work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Must sustain physical daily outdoor work and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Team-oriented with willingness to cooperate with others.
• Pre-employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety standards and PPE compliance, keep site clean.
• Load and unload materials with mobile equipment or by hand.
• Sort recycled materials and metals, separate high-grade metals.
• Identify scrap and grade/type of material.
• Position trailers/containers and manage yard operations.
• Perform plant equipment cleaning and housekeeping tasks.
