Job summary

Castle Rock Enterprises in Whitehorse, Yukon, seeks a reliable Loader Operator for winter snow removal. You will operate a loader to clear snow from parking lots, driveways, and other areas, keeping sites safe and accessible during winter.

Night shifts typically run from 8:00 pm to 7:00 am. Candidates should have a valid Class 5 license, be able to work outdoors in extreme cold, read maps, work nights/weekends/holidays, and communicate effectively with the team.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driving record.
• Experience operating a loader or similar heavy equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in winter conditions, including -30°C.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to read site maps and follow instructions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to use a smartphone for updates and reports.
• Basic knowledge of equipment inspections and work logs.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada (no sponsorship).

Requirements

• Ability to read site maps and follow instructions.
• Ability to work outdoors in temperatures as low as -30°C.
  
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work safely, both alone and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to use a smartphone for work updates and reports.
• Basic knowledge of equipment inspections and work logs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

• Night shifts typically run from 8:00 pm to 7:00 am, depending on snowfall and weather conditions.
• Outdoor work in snow, ice, storms, and temperatures as low as -30°C.
• Work at residential and commercial sites throughout Whitehorse.
• Operation of heavy equipment in winter conditions.
• Occasional contact with diesel, lubricants, and de-icing products.
• Work hours may change based on snowfall and weather conditions.
