Cumberland Paving and Contracting, part of Miller Paving Atlantic based in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, provides road construction, paving, rehabilitation, engineering construction, materials, highway operations, and maintenance services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract (Preferred Class 3)
• Previous experience operating a loader
• Mechanical knowledge and experience with general equipment maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with paving and milling equipment, loader, dozer, and excavator, and core training
• Welding and mechanical skills

Day in the Life

Calling all heavy equipment operators! You’ll operate machinery like skid steers and front-end loaders, performing tasks such as digging trenches, grading land, and lifting materials. Responsibilities include fluid checks, routine maintenance, cleaning, servicing, minor repairs, pre-operational checks, and logging equipment data.
