We are seeking a full-time position for an experienced Equipment (Wheel Loader) Operator for our Keddy Aggregate division in Coldbrook, Nova Scotia. We are seeking someone with a strong work ethic, ability to work independently under minimal supervision and a safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Commitment to a safe work culture
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to work in a team environment
• 2+ years of heavy equipment experience
• Class 1/3 license will be considered an asset
• Mechanical aptitude & experience an asset

Overtime will be required. You must be able to work in hot/cold environments and be physically capable of performing manual tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Participating in all aspects of operation of the Wash Plant
• Safe and efficient operation of the front-end loaders and other equipment
• Transport Material, load trucks and feed screeners and hoppers in an efficient manner
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Quality control of product
• Communicating with other team members
• Reporting to the plant operator on any issues regarding quality, safety, maintenance, and production
• Carrying out facility maintenance requirements as directed from the plant operator
• Maintaining all levels of communication, such as production, log books, and verbal communication
• Required to maintain a clean work environment: 'everything has a place and everything in its place.'
• Other duties, as may be required.
