Job summary

Rogers Communications, Inc. in Toronto, ON, is seeking a broadcast technology professional to support television production environments and IP-based workflows.

You will perform maintenance on cameras, audio consoles, switches, and networks, and liaise with staff to address technical priorities during live productions such as CityNews. The ideal candidate has a technical college diploma in Electronics or Computer Sciences, at least three years of IT and broadcast experience, and knowledge of

Qualifications

  • Technical college diploma in Electronics and/or Computer Sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years related IT and broadcast experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital video/audio systems.
  • Good working knowledge of television production and editing.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad.
  • Demonstrated competence with desktop applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Knowledge of GrassValley Edius is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical maintenance on cameras, audio consoles, switches, networks connections.
  • Liaise with staff and respond to their technical priorities.
  • Provide on-site technical support for live productions (i.e. CityNews)
  • Provide support on archiving MAM Systems
  • Install and test production equipment and editing systems.
  • Update documentation as required
  • Provide training on new installations as required.
  • Provide technical support for Camera Operators in the field
