Job summary

Rogers is seeking a Broadcast Technician to support live TV broadcasts and maintain broadcast systems at Rogers Media Vancouver. The role involves hands-on work with audio/video, automation, and transmission equipment, plus collaboration with the Engineering team to ensure high-quality broadcasts.

The ideal candidate has a Broadcast Systems Technician program background, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware and software maintenance, repair, and installation of audio/video and transmission equipment.
  • Provide support for live TV broadcasts.
  • Participate in studio, control room, and transmitter projects with Engineering Team.
  • Maintain engineering dept. records and drawings.
  • Maintain stock for engineering parts and supplies.
  • Liaise with other departments on technical matters.
  • Rotational shift work as required.

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for a skilled and passionate Broadcast Technician who thrives in a fast-paced, live production environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience supporting broadcast systems and technology, a strong technical troubleshooting mindset, and a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality broadcasts. The Engineering department maintains broadcast systems for Rogers Media Vancouver. As Broadcast Technician, your role will include:

What you'll do:
  • Perform all aspects of hardware and software maintenance, repair and installation of audio/video (digital/ analog), automation and transmission equipment found in a TV Broadcast plant.
  • Provide support for live TV broadcasts.
  • Participate in studio, control room, and transmitter projects in conjunction with the Engineering Team.
  • Maintain engineering dept. records and drawings.
  • Maintain stock for engineering parts and supplies.
  • Liaise with other departments on technical matters.
  • Rotational Shift work as required.
What you'll bring:
  • Graduate of recognized Broadcast Systems Technician or Technologist program.
  • Ability to work with minimal support as part of a collaborative team in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with Broadcast TV transmission systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with computer hardware, software and Local Area Networks.
  • The successful candidate will hold a valid BC's driver license.
