Job summary

Corus Entertainment Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Control Room Technician for Global News Toronto, onsite in Barber Greene, Toronto. You will support live and recorded broadcasts by operating and maintaining advanced studio systems.

The ideal candidate has a degree/diploma in Broadcast Technology and at least 3 years of control room experience, with familiarity in MOSART, ENPS, Open Media, Grass Valley, XPression and ORAD. A fast-paced, detail-oriented team player mentality is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Broadcast Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of network control room or related experience.
  • Solid knowledge of newsroom systems Mosart, ENPS, Open Media, Grass Valley, XPression and ORAD.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation of MOSART, the automated control room application.
  • Operate Maestro and ORAD virtual set control.
  • Operate Telemetric robotic cameras in virtual and real environments.
  • Perform technical initialization and facilities checks of cameras, audio, lighting, prompter, captions and other equipment.
  • Conduct quality control checks of programming from the server.
  • Coordinate live events remotely.
  • Work varied shifts including late nights and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.
