Job summary

A leading educational provider in Toronto is seeking a dedicated Little Readers Teacher/Tutor to assist young learners in developing essential reading skills. Qualifications

Responsibilities

Little Readers Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Are you all about alliteration? Love to learn about letters? Eager to help students succeed in learning to read? Gain valuable teaching experience with Oxford Learning Rosedale, a part‑time role that allows you to work with young learners and build essential reading skills.

Employment Type: Part Time
Schedule: Afternoons (Monday‑Friday, 4:00 pm onward) and Saturdays (9:00 am–2:00 pm)
Salary: $17.20 – $20.00 per hour
Location: 44 St Clair Ave., 2nd Floor, Rosedale, ON. This is an in‑person position; you must live within a short commute. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Position Requirements

• Work during after‑school hours and Saturday morning shifts.
• Be reliable and punctual; supervise up to five students at a time.
• Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Complete post‑lesson notes and daily student communication updates.
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum.

Experience

• Some experience teaching or tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding.
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
