Job summary

Options Consulting Solutions is seeking a Litigation / Personal Injury Associate to manage a varied caseload involving personal injury and civil litigation. You will work with clients, opposing counsel, insurers, and internal team members while preparing materials, advancing files, and supporting resolution through negotiation and formal proceedings.

The ideal candidate has minimum 2 years post-call litigation experience, is in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, and demonstrates

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of post-call litigation experience, ideally with exposure to personal injury matters.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Strong understanding of Ontario civil litigation procedure and related statutes

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day carriage of litigation and personal injury files, keeping matters organized and moving forward within required timelines.
  • Prepare and refine pleadings, motion materials, mediation briefs, settlement documentation, and other legal correspondence.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, insurers, and other parties throughout the life cycle of a file.
  • Review medical documentation and other evidence, identify key issues, and prepare clear summaries to support case strategy.
  • Conduct legal research and apply relevant legislation, procedural rules, and case law to active matters.
  • Participate in discoveries, mediations, case conferences, and other litigation steps alongside or under the guidance of senior counsel.
  • Support negotiations and settlement discussions, assessing file developments and helping move matters toward effective resolution.

What you bring to the job

You are a thoughtful and organized litigation lawyer who combines strong legal judgment with a client-focused approach. You can manage competing priorities, communicate clearly, and remain attentive to detail in a busy practice.

  • Minimum 2 years of post-call litigation experience, ideally with exposure to personal injury matters
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Strong understanding of Ontario civil litigation procedure and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS)
  • Excellent legal drafting, written communication, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple active files, deadlines, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with sound professional judgment and effective time-management skills

Expected Compensation: CAD $70,000 - $150,000 per year
