TAG HR in Ottawa is seeking an experienced Litigation Lawyer (5+ years) to join a growing team in Downtown Ottawa. You will manage a diverse civil litigation practice, work directly with clients, and own files from discovery through trial.

The role requires strong research, drafting, and advocacy skills, plus the ability to provide practical legal advice and exceptional client service in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation experience
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
• Experience managing litigation files through various stages of the process
• Experience with examinations for discovery, mediations, arbitrations, settlement negotiations, motions and trial preparation
• Strong legal research, drafting, analytical and advocacy skills
• Ability to assess complex legal issues and provide practical advice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and file-management abilities
• Capable of independently managing files while contributing to a team

Salary: $100,000 – $130,000, depending on experience

A well-established and growing Ottawa law firm is looking for an experienced Litigation Lawyer with 5+ years of experience to join its team in Downtown Ottawa.

This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced lawyers and a strong support team while managing a diverse civil litigation practice. The ideal candidate is a confident advocate who enjoys working directly with clients, is comfortable taking ownership of files, and brings a practical, solutions-oriented approach to complex legal matters.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably with a strong background in civil litigation

• Be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario

• Have experience managing litigation files through various stages of the litigation process

• Have experience with examinations for discovery, mediations, arbitrations, settlement negotiations, motions and trial preparation

• Possess strong legal research, drafting, analytical and advocacy skills

• Be able to assess complex legal issues and provide clear, practical and strategic legal advice

• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrate strong organizational and file-management abilities

• Be comfortable managing files independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

• Demonstrate sound judgment, initiative and attention to detail

• Take pride in providing exceptional client service and building strong client relationships

• Approach challenging matters with creativity and a practical, solutions-focused mindset

Assets

The following would be considered an asset, but are not required:

• Experience in construction litigation and/or estate litigation

• An existing or developing book of business

• Bilingualism in English and French
