Job summary

Aplin is partnering with a long-standing and highly respected client in Edmonton to recruit a Litigation Associate for its growing litigation and dispute resolution group.

This role offers exposure to sophisticated matters, mentorship from experienced litigators, and opportunities to manage own files while collaborating with a collegial team.

The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of litigation experience, Bar admission in good standing, and strong drafting, research and advocacy skills.

Qualifications

• Bar admission in good standing with a Canadian law society (preferably Alberta).
• 4–6 years of litigation experience, flexible with other levels.
• Experience in core litigation practice areas.
• Strong analytical, research, drafting and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on litigation strategy and risk management.
• Manage files through all stages of dispute resolution.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, affidavits, and other documents.
• Perform legal research and prepare advocacy materials.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations.
• Collaborate with partners and colleagues on complex matters.
