Job summary

David Aplin Recruiting is seeking a junior litigation associate for a well established mid-sized law firm in downtown Vancouver. This is an excellent opportunity for a hard-working lawyer to gain courtroom and litigation experience across a diverse range of practice areas with mentorship and resources to grow your own practice.

Qualifications

• Be called to the BC Bar and be in good standing.
• 1–3 years of post call experience with a focus on general litigation.
• Excellent drafting and interpersonal communication skills.
• Willing and eager to learn and engage with the work!

Responsibilities

• Independently handle smaller files from open to close while assisting senior lawyers on a diverse range of complex disputes, ranging from commercial disputes, insurance liability issues, real estate disputes, personal injury matters, estate litigation, and more
• Appear in court and contribute to hearings and other litigation processes (meaningful courtroom / trial exposure is expected)
